Mine has to be that dark indigo blue which I often use as an equivalent to black in my paintings. I particularly love Payne’s grey and also Prussian blue. I think another compulsive part of my art making is the automatic writing and drawing that often appears. For a long time it was hidden beneath the layers of paint but increasingly I am bring it forward to become part of the visual texture of the painting. I couldn’t help myself adding in some yellow ochre and wedge wood blue eek ! I am also slightly cheating here as I’ve placed one of the small boards I’ve been working on alongside.
